| Force Gurkha |
Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha are the
closest rivals in the Indian car off-road segment. They are both
inspired from world class products as Mahindra got this design from Jeep
while Force gives the credit to Mercedes G-Wagon. Mahindra Thar CRDe
4x4 is a more powerful option, using 2498cc engine that is good for 105
BHP at 3800 rpm and 247 Nm at 1800-2000 rpm. It comes mated to a 5-speed
manual gearbox while also uses Borgwarner 4WD system with High and Low
reduction gear. Thar comes with a mechanical locking rear differential
and comes in just six seat option. The story for Force Gurkha is totally
different.

| Mahindra Thar |
2017 Force Gurkha Xplorer 4x4 is powered by 2596cc engine that
produces a max of 85 HP at 3200 rpm and 230 Nm at 1400-2400 rpm. The
power values are lower but available at an earlier point, making it
easier for Gurkha to come out of tough situations. Apart from that,
Force Motors uses mechanical locking differential at both the ends,
further helping the Gurkha keep itself away from trouble while
off-roading. Mahindra Thar benefits from its widespread availability,
better service and even more buyers for its design. Force Gurkha feel
more like a strict off-road machine and many step back because of its
decade old interior design.
